Overview
Candy Bowman specialises in Confident Communication Skills for business, management and personal development. Candy has a degree in Communication Studies and substantial experience in business and team management.
From a standpoint that life’s too short to be miserable at work, Candy recognised early in her career that of the three components for success, knowledge, skill and attitude, it was the third aspect, i.e. motivation, that is fundamental to both productivity and getting the most out of any situation.
Her first job after graduating was in the Telephone Sales department at the Times newspaper which had an excellent reputation for integrity. As frequently happens, Candy’s first management role there happened because she was good at her job, however there was no training. Now, in addition to assertive, confident communication, presentation skills and client relationships, Candy delights in training leadership and management courses that she would have loved to receive herself.
After working at the Times, Candy developed and ran a housekeeping business, managed a government funded agency supporting SME’s in the early years of trading and worked in the music industry. She has been training in this part of her career for over 20 years.
Candy believes that “communicating with confidence makes best use of both time and energy and reduces misunderstandings. It is an effective, efficient way to build cooperative, collaborative relationships whilst substantially improving quality of working life”.
